ESTHETICIAN
600 total clock hours, 26 semester credit hours
The program is designed for students to acquire knowledge of laws
and rules regulating establishments’ practices, knowledge
of sanitation and sterilization as related to all phases of the
skin, as well as general theory relative to esthetics including
anatomy, chemistry, and physiology.
Prerequisite: High School Diploma or GED or pass ATB exams
Class Schedule: Classes are offered at the campus during
morning 8AM-4:30PM (15 Weeks), and evening 6:00PM-10:00PM (30 Weeks) Monday through Friday.
The program consists of the following:
- Barbering and Cosmetology Act and the Boards Rules and Regulations
- Chemistry
- Health and Safety/Hazardous Substances
- Theory of Electricity in Cosmetology
- Disinfections and Sanitation
- Bacteriology, Anatomy, and Physiology
- Facials
- Eyebrow Arching and Hair Removal
- Tweezers and Wax/Depilatories
- Makeup
- Corrective Makeup and the Application of False Eyelashes
- Principles of Career Development
Students will learn the proper use of implements relative to all
esthetician services, including knowledge of analyzing the skin,
application of daytime and evening makeup to include the application
of false eyelashes. Students will also learn the proper procedure
of manual, electrical & chemical facials, tweezing and waxing
procedure.
