500 total clock hours, 30 total semester credit hours
The program prepares student for positions as entry-level medical
assistant / billing position in health care offices, clinics, and
hospitals.
Prerequisite:
High School Diploma or GED or ATB exam pass
Class Schedule: Classes are offered at the campus during
morning 8:30AM-3PM, and evening 6PM-10PM Monday through Friday.

- Principles of Career Development
- Basic Keyboarding
- Microsoft Word/Excel
- Anatomy & Medical Terminology I, II & III
- Medical Billing / MediSoft
- Medical Coding / Managed Care, Blue Cross / Tricare
- Medical Law, Ethics & Cal-OSHA
- Medical Coding / Government
- Medical Office Procedures
- Medical Coding / Worker’s Comp & Disability
- Dental Billing
- Hospital Billing / Electronic Billing
- Job Search Techniques
This program enters areas of legal issues, front office administration,
customer service, general biology, and medical terminology. Students
also learn private insurance plans, including HMO, PPO, and POS;
Medicare; workers’ compensation; disability insurance; and
disputed and delinquent claims.
